Book of Silent Sky
Book of Silent Sky is a work of myth, philosophy, and contemplative reflection exploring consciousness, individuality, relationship, and the search for greater Self-understanding.
Beginning with the birth of a cosmos and eventually narrowing to the life of a young man named Yer, the book imagines a universe in which consciousness comes to know itself through relationship—with the world, others, and itself. Gods, teachers, lovers, strange worlds, and encounters with the unknown become part of a mythology concerned with a simple question: how does a self become more fully aware of what it is?
Across twenty-four Gates, the myth is accompanied by reflections and glosses that explore ideas of Self-awareness, change, suffering, love, freedom, vocation, and Self-coherence. Rather than offering a system of belief or a prescribed spiritual path, these reflections present one author’s attempt to think through the questions raised by the story.
Strange in its cosmology but grounded in ordinary life, Book of Silent Sky occupies a space somewhere between fiction, scripture, and philosophy—a mythology about becoming, self-reflection, and learning to see more clearly.
Anámesos
Anámesos is a collection of poetry exploring the relationship between the external world, inner life, and divinity. Its title, derived from the Greek word meaning “in between,” reflects the ever-evolving nature of identity, consciousness, and spiritual experience.
Divided into three sections—Prósōpon (Persona), Psyche (Soul), and Theós (God)—the collection draws upon personal reflection, religious symbolism, and philosophical contemplation to explore authenticity, self-expression, and the search for meaning.
Published in 2025, Anámesos represents a transitional period in the author's creative and spiritual development.
Glisten
Glisten: Ideations of a Self moves between developing photographs, imagined domestic futures, and encounters with the divine. Written in 2022, the poetry collection brings romantic longing into conversation with faith, identity, the desire for self-understanding. Across five sections named for the Kabbalistic worlds, intimate scenes give way to spiritual visions, acceptance of oneself, and love of God.
Pink Summer
Pink Summer brings together poetry, philosophical musings and photography in a personal exploration of love, consciousness, and spiritual life. Across five sections, the author’s observations of nature unfold alongside reflections on authenticity, divine presence, and the longing to know oneself. Drawing on Kabbalah and other religious traditions, the collection records steps toward self-understanding through exploration, uncertainty, and moments of recovered joy.
Thirty
Thirty is a collection of poems gathered from Jared Kavan’s first thirty years of life. They concern love, loneliness, faith, and the desire to find something that could not always be named, but could not be lived without. Some recall people and places; others follow dreams, imagined relationships, and possibilities that never came to be. This collection is a record of how the author experienced life at the time, and how writing helped him make sense of it.
